We cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition of our resident Sigurður Atli Sigurðsson: EVERYDAY FORTUNE
opening: 19/10/2017 from 7 p.m.
exhibition: 20/10/2017-30/10/2017
The Icelandic artist Sigurður Atli Sigurðsson exhibits paintings, ink drawings and prints on paper, textile and bath mats made during his residency period at PRÁM Studio as well as a publication in collaboration with KudlaPress.
The installation that consists of dozens of paintings on bath mats forms a kind of mind map; a set of ideas and images from the everyday that portray the artists personal mythology. Through the abstraction of everyday moments Sigurður Atli Sigurðsson looks at how our everyday environment as well as our fundamental needs, beliefs and superstitions shape our iconography.
