JOANNE PANG (Singapore)

Our residency artist for month June is artist from Singapore Joanne Pang.


Joanne Pang is an artist and designer based in Singapore. Her work explores relationships between body, memory and structure. She questions the relationship between man and nature—looking into the dialectics of memory, the poetics of things and being versus the materiality of time. In this process, she creates installations, objects, paintings, drawings.

She graduated with a Bachelor degree in Visual Communication at The School of Arts, Design and Media in Nanyang Technological University in 2009 and a Masters of Fine Art at The Royal Danish Art Academy, in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2013.. From 2012-2016, she worked intensively under Yunrubin, an art collective based in Copenhagen, with a focus on materiality and structure; creating many site-specific installations across Europe and Asia such as Copenhagen Artweek 2015, Shiryaevo 9th Biennale of Contemporary Art in Russia, Kilometre of Sculpture, Rakvere, Estonia and at Grey Projects, Singapore. She has participate in international solo and group exhibitions in Iceland, Japan, Finland, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands and Singapore and United Kingdom. 

Joanne Pang is currently a Lecturer at Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore.
