Manuel Tainha
Manuel Tainha (*1993) is the first foreign artist of this year. He will spend two months at studio PRÁM – April, May. You can look forward to his solo exhibition curated by Šárka Koudelová on May 21st; the opening of the exhibition starts at 6:00 PM.
Manuel lives and creates in Lisbon, Portugal. He studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon and in the studio of Anselm Reyle at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts (HFBK).
His work explores composition through the alternation of processes, whether it’s adding/subtracting matter or two-dimensional/three-dimensional composition. The cultural value of materials such as textiles, limitations in architectural contexts, the interplay of fragility and violence in the work process, and domestic conditions are constants in his creative process.
The project is realized with financial support from the City of Prague and the State Fund of Culture of the Czech Republic.
