Øleg&Kaśka (PL)

Artist-in-Residence for August and September is an art duo Øleg&Kaśka from Poland. We are looking forward to their solo exhibition in the second half of September.

Øleg&Kaśka is a collective superorganism founded in the summer of 2018. We graduated from The University of The Arts in Poznań (Poland) in 2020 (MFA). Our artistic practice is mainly about creating multi-layered installations in which we place the viewers. We work with different mediums like painting, sculpture, video or fragrance to create immerse environments in wich viewers can attend.

Our practice is rooted in the dilemmas of the Z generation, contain the responsibility to deal with world coming crisis raised from climate crisis. The language we use is a hybrid of mythology and pop culture, which is our way to talk about escapism and fatality but also about condition of the world societies and environment in general.

We try to deal with classic understanding of the art and the figure of the artist as an individual, by creating the figure of the quasi artist, androgynous Øleg&Kaśka.

We have exhibited our works in many institutions and galleries in Poland and abroad like Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw (PL), MoMA, Warsaw (PL), :SKALA Gallery, Poznan (PL), Gdansk City Gallery, Gdansk (PL), Belinskej Model, Prague (CZ), Spread Museum, Entrevaux (FR), Sonneundsolche, Düsseldorf (DE), and others.
